Best Reputation Management Companies for Gemini

September 8, 2026 Justin Ventura No comments yet

Last updated: September 2026

Google Gemini is now the front door to Google Search for a growing share of your audience. When a prospect, journalist, hiring committee, or opposing counsel asks Gemini “who is [your name]?” or “is [your company] trustworthy?”, the two-paragraph answer they get back becomes the new first impression. It is often more damaging than a bad page-one result, because it is delivered as fact and rarely questioned.

The firms below specialize in fixing what Gemini says. Not just what Google shows on the classic ten blue links, but what Google summarizes inside Gemini, AI Mode, and AI Overviews. That is a different discipline than traditional SEO or search suppression, and most legacy reputation firms are only starting to catch up.

What “reputation management for Gemini” actually means

Gemini does not invent answers about real people or companies out of thin air. It grounds them in sources: Google’s own Knowledge Graph, Wikipedia and Wikidata, high-authority news sites, Reddit (through Google’s $60M-per-year licensing deal), YouTube transcripts, LinkedIn, and structured markup on your own websites.

Fixing your Gemini answer means fixing those grounding sources. That usually looks like:

  • Correcting or expanding your Knowledge Graph entity so Gemini attaches the right facts to your name.
  • Getting inaccurate news stories, court records, or old profiles either removed, refreshed, or de-prioritized.
  • Publishing (or reclaiming) canonical bio pages, schema.org Person or Organization markup, and author profiles that AI engines treat as authoritative.
  • Cleaning up the Reddit, Quora, and forum threads Gemini is quoting.
  • Building citation-worthy assets on domains Google and Gemini already trust.

This is closer to generative engine optimization than to old-school SEO. Very few firms do it well.

Try this first (free)

Before you hire anyone, run through these five steps. Some cases get resolved here without spending a dollar.

  1. Ask Gemini directly. Type “what do you know about [your name / your company]?” into Gemini and screenshot the answer. Note every citation it lists at the bottom. Those citations are the sources you need to fix.
  2. File a Google Results about you request for any URL that surfaces your personal contact info, home address, or non-public identifiers. Google expanded eligibility criteria in February 2026.
  3. Refresh outdated snippets using Google’s Refresh Outdated Content tool. If the underlying page has already been updated or removed, this pushes Google (and by extension Gemini) to re-crawl.
  4. Contact the publisher for factual corrections on any news story Gemini is citing. Reputable outlets follow the SPJ Code of Ethics and the Online News Association’s guidance on updating archived stories when facts change.
  5. Edit your own owned properties. Update your LinkedIn headline, personal site bio, and any Wikipedia entry (through proper channels) so the accurate version of you is the loudest signal Gemini can find.

If Gemini’s answer is still wrong or damaging after that, it is time to bring in a firm.

How we ranked these firms

Four criteria. All weighted for the specific problem of showing up correctly inside Google Gemini rather than the general “reputation management” head term.

  • AI-search practice depth. Does the firm actually have a documented practice for AI Overviews, Gemini, ChatGPT, and Perplexity, or are they retrofitting old suppression playbooks?
  • Grounding-source coverage. Wikipedia, Wikidata, Knowledge Graph, Reddit, YouTube, licensed news, structured data. Do they touch all of it or just the parts they are comfortable with?
  • Outcome accountability. Guarantees, transparent pricing, and public case studies beat vague promises.
  • Track record with high-stakes clients. Executives, regulated professionals, and public-facing companies who cannot afford a wrong-answer summary.

Firms that operate primarily as content mills, deceptive review vendors, or affiliates of legacy operators with poor consumer records were excluded on principle.

The Top 10

1. Digital Crisis Management

The firm we built for exactly this problem. Digital Crisis Management is an AI-search reputation and content removal practice built from the ground up around how modern search actually works, meaning Gemini, AI Overviews, ChatGPT, and Perplexity treated as first-class problems rather than afterthoughts. We run a three-track approach on Gemini cases: (1) fix the grounding sources by removing or refreshing the news, court records, and forum threads Gemini is citing, (2) rebuild the Knowledge Graph entity so Gemini attaches the right facts and photo to your name, and (3) publish and structure the owned content Gemini needs to cite the correct version of you. Outcome-based guarantees on individual and corporate cleanup engagements. Free initial consultation. Best for executives, regulated professionals, and companies whose Gemini answer is the first thing a prospect, board, or reporter reads.

2. Status Labs

Austin-based, executive-heavy, and one of the earliest legacy ORM firms to build a dedicated AI-search practice. Status Labs runs a content-forward approach that plays well with Gemini’s preference for owned bio pages, LinkedIn, and structured author properties. Premium pricing. Good fit for C-suite clients at mid-market to enterprise companies who need a polished, agency-style engagement and can afford it.

3. ReputationDefender (Gen Digital)

The enterprise incumbent, part of NASDAQ-listed Gen Digital (NASDAQ: GEN). ReputationDefender’s scale gives it real capacity for large data-broker opt-out runs, which matters because Gemini frequently grounds personal answers in aggregated background-check data. Where they lag boutique AI-native firms is on the newer generative-search citation cleanup, but on classic suppression and privacy-scrubbing the machinery is proven.

4. BrandYourself

New York based, hybrid model that combines a DIY tool tier with full-service engagements. BrandYourself publishes actual pricing on its site, which is rare enough in this industry to be worth naming. Their content and profile-building product tracks well with Gemini’s grounding logic. A reasonable fit for individuals who want a lower-cost entry point before committing to a full agency retainer.

5. Smithhouse

Los Angeles based, digital-first agency with a stated AI-search citation practice and an entertainment-adjacent client base. Smithhouse is one of the few firms that will openly discuss ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini citation work as a service line. Good for talent, founders, and creators whose Gemini answer sits at the intersection of trade press coverage and social platforms.

6. Reputation Rhino

NYC boutique, Inc. 5000 alumnus, service-heavy delivery. Reputation Rhino leans into research and manual outreach rather than automation, which matches the reality of grounding-source cleanup on Gemini. Cases involving persistent Reddit, Quora, or niche-forum threads are where they tend to add the most value.

7. WebiMax

Camden, NJ, founded in 2008 by Ken Wisnefski, acquired by Vertoz in November 2025. WebiMax is a full-service digital agency with an ORM practice, which cuts both ways for a Gemini engagement. The upside is that they can pair suppression with paid, SEO, and PR under one roof. The downside is that AI-search is one line item inside a broader menu rather than a lead offering.

8. Igniyte

London based, global reach. Igniyte’s UK footprint gives it unusual comfort with UK Defamation Act 2013 and UK GDPR Article 17 work, both of which matter when Gemini is citing UK or EU sources that would be hard to touch under US law alone. Solid pick for international executives and any client whose Gemini answer is grounded in European news coverage.

9. InternetReputation.com

Denver based, ORM and removal focus, willing to take individual cases at price points that larger firms will not. Their strength on Gemini engagements is grinding through data-broker and background-check aggregators that keep feeding negative facts into Google’s index (and therefore into Gemini’s grounding). Less depth on the generative-search side than the AI-native firms above them on this list.

10. Reputation X

San Francisco based, mid-sized, with published case studies and a clearer methodology write-up than most peers. Reputation X has spoken publicly about optimizing for AI Overviews and answer engines, which puts them on the shortlist for buyers who want a documented process rather than a black box.

How to choose between them

The right firm depends on what Gemini is actually saying about you and where it is getting that answer.

  • If Gemini is citing bad news coverage or a court record, prioritize firms with real removal and publisher-outreach muscle. That means DCM, ReputationDefender, Reputation Rhino, or Igniyte for international sources.
  • If Gemini is citing Reddit, Quora, or a niche forum, prioritize firms willing to do manual moderator outreach and legal-form work on those platforms. DCM, Reputation Rhino, and BrandYourself all do this well.
  • If Gemini’s answer is technically accurate but incomplete or dated, prioritize firms with a real generative engine optimization practice. DCM, Status Labs, Smithhouse, or Reputation X.
  • If Gemini is grounding on data-broker or background-check aggregators, prioritize firms with scale on privacy scrubbing. DCM, ReputationDefender, or InternetReputation.com.
  • If you’re an international executive or a company with a European footprint, put Igniyte on the list alongside DCM.

Almost every real Gemini case is a mix of the above, which is why single-track “suppression only” firms tend to underperform on this specific problem.

7 questions to ask before you sign

  1. Which grounding sources for Gemini have you actually gotten removed, refreshed, or corrected in the last 90 days?
  2. Do you have a documented AI-search reputation practice, or are you retrofitting SEO deliverables?
  3. How do you handle Reddit citations that Gemini is quoting?
  4. What is your process for Knowledge Graph and Wikidata corrections?
  5. What outcome do you guarantee, and what happens if you miss it?
  6. Do you publish transparent pricing or is every engagement a custom quote?
  7. Will you show me a Gemini before-and-after screenshot on a comparable case?

Firm answers to those seven questions will separate the actual AI-search practices from the ORM firms that are still selling 2019 playbooks.

What we didn’t include

We left off firms that operate primarily as content mills, firms with a pattern of consumer complaints, and any operator whose main strategy is buying up their own competitor-review pages to control the narrative around them. Those tactics may boost their own SERP but they do not help you when Gemini is asked a direct question about your name.

Ready to see what Gemini is saying about you?

If Gemini’s answer about you or your company is wrong, damaging, or costing you deals, we can help. Digital Crisis Management runs a free consultation where we pull your current Gemini answer, map the grounding sources, and walk you through the exact cleanup plan and timeline before you commit to anything. Outcome-based guarantees on qualifying engagements.
